We have begun the important work of creating a series of assessment tools to support the work across our classrooms K-9. This work has been initiated by a series of scans across elementary, middle and high schools across our district. This scan has focused our work and we are now in the process of beginning to bring teams of teachers together to dig into the idea of what is going on for our learners from a numeracy perspective, and how we might best support them in their journey to being capable numerate thinkers. This work will involve a core team of educators from across grade levels and many schools coming together to create and assemble the tools and tasks that support our students numeracy development.
